Scientists/Engineers Invented a Solar Panel that Generates Electricity at Night

if you could use solar panels to generate electricity even when the sun goes down. That's exactly what engineers from Stanford University in California have achieved with their groundbreaking invention. They have created solar panels that can harness the power of the night sky and turn it into usable energy. This amazing innovation could change the way we use solar energy and help us meet the growing demand for clean and renewable power sources.

The key is a special device called a thermoelectric generator that works together with conventional solar panels. This device can capture the infrared light that radiates from the Earth into space during clear nights. By pointing the solar panels at the cold night sky, the device can create a temperature difference between the panel's surface and the surrounding air, which generates electricity.

This means that these solar panels can produce power not only during the day, but also at night, when most of us need it the most. Imagine how this could transform our lives and our planet. We could have streetlights, homes, and businesses running on solar energy around the clock, reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and cutting down our carbon footprint. We could also combat climate change and its harmful effects by using more sustainable and eco-friendly energy sources.

The next time you look up at the night sky and admire the stars, remember that there are brilliant engineers who are working hard to tap into the power of the dark and create a brighter and greener future for us all.

Tiny Camera, Big Revolution, World's Smallest Image Sensor is Transforming Medical Imaging

The world's smallest commercially available image sensor, the OV6948 by OmniVision Technologies, is revolutionizing medical imaging. This tiny camera, measuring just 0.575mm x 0.575mm, is smaller than a grain of salt, yet it delivers high-quality images even in low light.

The OV6948 is enabling less invasive medical procedures and better anatomical access. It is also addressing the challenges of reusable medical imaging tools, such as contamination risks and high maintenance costs.

In particular, the OV6948 is transforming the field of endoscopy. Endoscopy involves inserting a thin, flexible tube with a camera at the end into the body to examine internal organs and tissues. The OV6948's small size and excellent image quality make it ideal for developing new disposable endoscopes that are more efficient and safer than traditional reusable endoscopes.

The FDA has emphasized the importance of avoiding contamination in endoscopy due to inadequate cleaning. The OV6948's disposable nature eliminates this risk. Additionally, disposable endoscopes are less expensive to maintain than reusable endoscopes, which can save hospitals and clinics significant money.

Experts predict a sharp increase in the shipments of disposable endoscopes over the next five years, largely due to the OV6948. Major endoscope manufacturers are quickly adapting to this new trend by developing cost-effective, high-quality disposable endoscopes.

The OV6948 is a remarkable technological achievement that is having a major impact on medical imaging. This tiny camera is helping to make medical procedures safer, more efficient, and more accessible.

Muhammad Rizwan of Pakistan Shares a Powerful Message of Unity

Pakistan cricket team's Muhammad Rizwan shares a powerful message of unity

Muhammad Rizwan, the star wicketkeeper-batsman of the Pakistan cricket team, has posted a heartfelt message on social media, showing the world that the team is united and strong, despite some recent rumors of a rift.

Rizwan shared a team photo on his social account, where the players are seen huddled together in a circle, with the national flag in the background. He wrote a beautiful Urdu poem in the caption, which translates to:

"We are one, we are together,

We have seen many ups and downs,

We have laughed and cried together,

We have shared our joys and sorrows,

We are one, we are together."

The poem reflects the bond that the team shares, and how they support each other through thick and thin. It also dispels any speculation of a discord that emerged after some media reports claimed that there was a heated argument between captain Babar Azam and fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi during a post-match team meeting.

According to the reports, the incident occurred after Pakistan's narrow loss to Sri Lanka in the last ball of the 2023 Asia Cup match. Babar reportedly expressed his dissatisfaction with some senior players' performances, while Shaheen urged him to appreciate those who had done well. This led to a tense exchange of words between the two, which was later resolved by Rizwan's intervention.

However, Rizwan's latest post shows that there is no bad blood between the players, and that they are focused on their common goal of winning matches for their country. The post has received a lot of love and support from the fans, who praised Rizwan for his leadership and maturity. Many also commented on how the team looks happy and confident, and wished them all the best for their upcoming matches.

The Pakistan cricket team is currently preparing for the World Cup 2023 in India.

Shahid Afridi has Revealed his Admiration and Gratitude for Imran Khan

Shahid Afridi, the former captain of the Pakistan national cricket team, has revealed his admiration and gratitude for Imran Khan, the current Prime Minister of Pakistan and a legendary cricketer himself. In a candid interview with a popular TV show, Afridi shared his views on various topics related to cricket and politics.

One of the most interesting segments of the interview was when the host asked Afridi to choose which cricketer's innings he would like to watch repeatedly, given a hypothetical scenario where he had access to only three videos. The host gave him three options: Javed Miandad's famous last-ball six against India in 1986, Imran Khan's match-winning 72 not out against England in the 1992 World Cup final, and Afridi's own record-breaking 37-ball century against Sri Lanka in 1996.

Afridi, who is known for his explosive batting style and charismatic personality, surprised many viewers by choosing Imran Khan's innings over his own. He explained that he would watch Javed Miandad's innings once, as it was a historic moment for Pakistan cricket, but he would watch Imran Khan's innings twice, as it was a masterclass of leadership and determination. He also added that he owed his cricketing career to Imran Khan, who served as his role model and inspiration.

"If Imran Khan was not there, I would not be Shahid Afridi," Afridi said, expressing his deep respect for the man who led Pakistan to its first and only World Cup title. Afridi also praised Imran Khan's vision and efforts for the country as the Prime Minister, saying that he had full faith in him and his policies.

Afridi's interview has received a lot of positive feedback from fans and experts alike, who appreciated his honesty and humility. Many people also agreed with his choice of Imran Khan's innings, as it was one of the most memorable and influential performances in the history of cricket. Afridi himself has played many memorable innings for Pakistan, but he has always acknowledged the contribution of his seniors and mentors in shaping his career.

Secret Behind the Smell of Freshly Cut Grass

Have you ever wondered why freshly cut grass smells so good? Many people enjoy the aroma of a newly mowed lawn, golf course, or baseball field, but few know the reason behind it. The truth is, the smell of freshly cut grass is actually a chemical distress call that plants release when damaged. The smell is caused by the release of volatile organic molecules like esters and aldehydes. The aroma is a mixture of organic compounds called green leaf volatiles (GLVs) that serve as an aromatic distress signal to surrounding vegetation.

The purpose of GLVs is to alert other plants of imminent danger and to trigger various defensive responses. Some of the compounds stimulate the formation of new cells at the wound site so it closes faster. Others act as antibiotics that prevent bacterial infection and inhibit fungal growth. A few spur the production of defensive compounds at un-wounded sites as sort of a pre-emptive fortification. And still others react with other chemicals to act as something like distress signals

One of the most fascinating aspects of GLVs is that they can also attract beneficial insects to the rescue. Scientists have found that the saliva of certain caterpillars reacts with the GLVs released by coyote tobacco plants to make them attractive to the "big-eyed bugs" that regularly eat the caterpillars⁴. This way, the plants use their enemies' enemies as allies in their defense. Other examples of insect-plant interactions mediated by GLVs include attracting parasitic wasps, predatory mites, and ladybugs

The smell of freshly cut grass may seem pleasant to us, but it is actually a sign of plant stress and trauma. It is also a complex communication system that involves plant-plant and plant-insect interactions. The next time you smell freshly cut grass, remember that you are witnessing a chemical warfare between plants and herbivores, and a mutualistic relationship between plants and insects.

Canada Accuses India of Sikh Leader Recent Murder

Canada has accused India of being involved in the killing of a Sikh activist on Canadian soil, sparking a diplomatic row between the two countries.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian citizen and a prominent supporter of the Khalistan movement, which seeks an independent homeland for Sikhs in India's Punjab region, was shot dead by two masked men outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18, 2023.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Monday that there was "credible evidence" that India was behind the assassination, and that he had raised the issue "in no uncertain terms" with his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, when they met briefly at the G20 summit in New Delhi last week.

"Any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty," Trudeau told an emergency session of parliament. "Canada is a rule of law country, the protection of our citizens and defence of our sovereignty are fundamental."

Trudeau said the alleged killing "is contrary to the fundamental rules by which free, open, and democratic societies conduct themselves".

Canada's Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly announced that Canada was expelling the chief of India's intelligence agency in Canada as a response to the allegations. "Today we're acting by expelling a key diplomat, but we will get to the bottom of this," she said.

India's Foreign Ministry rejected the allegations as "absurd" and said it was expelling an unnamed Canadian senior diplomat in retaliation. It also accused Canada of harbouring Sikh separatists who pose a threat to India's security and unity.

The Khalistan movement has been a source of tension between India and Canada for decades. In 1985, a bomb planted by Sikh militants on an Air India flight from Canada killed 329 people, mostly Canadians. In 2018, Modi accused Trudeau of being soft on Sikh extremists during his visit to India.

Sikhs make up about 2% of India's population and face discrimination and violence from the Hindu majority. They also make up about 1.5% of Canada's population and have a significant political influence in the country.

Godzilla Movie Fact That Will Amaze You

Godzilla is one of the most iconic and popular movie monsters of all time, but how much did he actually appear in his own film? The answer may surprise you.

According to one estimate, Godzilla was shown for only 11 minutes in the 2014 movie Godzilla, which had a total runtime of 123 minutes. That means the giant reptile had less than 10% of the screen time in his own film. However, some other sources claim that the screen time of the monster was closer to 8 minutes, which would reduce his presence to less than 7%.

Why did the director Gareth Edwards choose to show Godzilla so sparingly in his own film? According to him, it was a deliberate choice to build suspense and anticipation for the audience³. He wanted to create a sense of awe and wonder when Godzilla finally appeared on the screen, and he was inspired by films like Jaws and Alien, which also used the technique of hiding the creature for most of the film.

However, not everyone was happy with this approach. Some fans and critics praised Edwards for creating a realistic and grounded film that focused on the human characters and their reactions to the disaster. They also appreciated the visual effects and the sound design that made Godzilla look and sound impressive. On the other hand, some fans and critics criticized Edwards for being disappointing and frustrating. They felt that they were cheated out of seeing more of Godzilla, and they wanted more action and spectacle from the film.

What did you think of the movie? Did you enjoy it or not? Share your opinions in the comments section below.

Pakistan Zaman Khan not used Mankad rule against Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka won the match against Pakistan and reached the final of the Asia Cup 2023. The match was very close and exciting. It was played in Colombo on Thursday.

Sri Lanka needed nine runs in the last over. But the new bowler Zaman Khan bowled very well and made it hard for them. At one point, they needed six runs in two balls.

But then, something strange happened. The Sri Lankan batsman Matheesha Pathirana was out of his place before the ball was bowled. Zaman could have run him out easily. This is called Mankad in cricket.

But Zaman did not do that. He let him go. The next ball, the other Sri Lankan batsman Charith Asalanka hit a four. Then, he hit a two on the last ball and won the match for his team.

Many people talked about this match. Some Indian fans said that Zaman should have run out Pathirana. Some Pakistani fans said that they did not want to win by Mankad because it is not fair.

Pakistan will now play their next match in coming World Cup 2023 in India.

Apple iPhone 15 Series to Launch Tonight, Here are the some new features

Are you ready for some Apple magic? The Wonderlust event is finally here, and it starts at 10 a.m. PDT/1 p.m. EDT. This is the moment we've all been waiting for, as Apple reveals the new iPhone 15 and the latest Apple Watch models. This is Apple's first big show since they introduced the Vision Pro at WWDC a few months ago. For many of us, Apple's fall iPhone event is a sign that summer is over and autumn is here, just like the pumpkin spice flavor.

What to Expect:

There have been so many rumors about the iPhone 15 that it's hard to keep track of them all. Some say it will have a bigger Pro model, called the iPhone 15 Ultra. Others say it will have a 48-megapixel camera and a new A16 chip. Some even say it will have a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port. As the excitement grows, let's see what the Apple fall event has in store for us.

Apple's event invitation is very mysterious. It shows an Apple logo made of tiny, dust-like particles, with lines carved into it, like sand dunes in the wind. The word "Wonderlust" is a play on "wanderlust," which means a strong desire to travel and explore. This makes us wonder: Does the logo mean that the iPhone will have a thinner design? Does it mean that the camera will be better at capturing details? Does it mean that the iPhone or Apple Watch will have new colors? Or is it just a way of saying that life is short and we should enjoy it? We don't know yet.

The iPhone 15 Series: What's New

The star of the show is expected to be the iPhone 15 Pro. According to reports, there will be four models in the new iPhone series: iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, and 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will be similar to the iPhone 14 Pro, but without the telephoto camera and the stainless steel body. They will have a 48-megapixel main camera and the A16 chip from their older siblings. They will also have the Dynamic Island cutout on their displays, which was first seen on the 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

However, don't expect any major changes in the screen quality, such as high refresh rates like on the Pro iPhones. Rumors say that all four iPhone 15 models will support 15-watt wireless charging using the Qi2 open standard, which means you can use more wireless charging devices than just Apple MagSafe accessories.

One big change that might affect all models is the switch from the Lightning connector to a USB-C port. This might be because of a new law in Europe that says all devices should use USB-C as the universal charging standard. The last time Apple changed the iPhone's power port was in 2012 when they introduced the Lightning port on the iPhone 5.

Cool Features for the Pro Models:

The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are expected to have some cool features. These Pro models might have frames made of titanium, instead of stainless steel, which could make them lighter. They might also have a new A17 chip, with a super-small 3-nanometer processor, which would be Apple's smallest chip ever. These models might also have thinner bezels around their displays.

The most impressive feature for the Pro models might be a USB-C port, which could offer faster data transfer speeds and support for ProRes video files. The iPhone 15 Pro Max might also have a new 6x optical telephoto camera, which could make zoomed-in photos look amazing. Another feature that might set them apart from other models is solid-state volume and power buttons, which means they won't move or click when you press them.

The Most Viewed Video In YouTube History

Do you know what happened on this day 15 years ago? The first-ever video was uploaded to YouTube, the world's most popular video-sharing platform. The video, called "Me at the zoo," was posted by Jawed Karim, one of the co-founders of YouTube. It shows him talking about elephants at the San Diego Zoo for 18 seconds. The video has now been viewed more than 90 million times and is the only video on Karim's channel.

The video is simple and unedited, unlike the flashy and polished videos that dominate YouTube today. It doesn't have any catchy title, thumbnail, or description. It doesn't ask viewers to subscribe, like, or comment. It just ends with Karim saying, "And that's pretty much all there is to say."

But this humble video started a revolution in online video. Just a year after uploading "Me at the zoo," Karim and his co-founders sold YouTube to Google for a whopping $1.65 billion. Today, YouTube has more than 2 billion monthly active users who watch over one billion hours of content every day.

YouTube has also changed the lives of many people who became famous through their videos. From comedians to gamers to musicians to influencers, YouTube has created a new breed of celebrities who have millions of fans and make millions of dollars. YouTube has also launched its own streaming service, YouTube Red , which offers original shows and movies featuring YouTube stars.

But YouTube has also faced many challenges and controversies over the years. It has been criticized for hosting videos that promote hate speech, violence, misinformation, and other harmful content . It has also dealt with conflicts and scandals involving some of its creators, such as PewDiePie , Logan Paul , and James Charles . It has also struggled to balance the interests and needs of its advertisers, creators, and viewers.

YouTube has come a long way since "Me at the zoo." It has become a cultural phenomenon that shapes how we consume and create online video. It has also become a platform that showcases the diversity and creativity of human expression. And it all started with a guy talking about elephants at the zoo.
