Pakistan Zaman Khan not used Mankad rule against Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka won the match against Pakistan and reached the final of the Asia Cup 2023. The match was very close and exciting. It was played in Colombo on Thursday.

Sri Lanka needed nine runs in the last over. But the new bowler Zaman Khan bowled very well and made it hard for them. At one point, they needed six runs in two balls.

But then, something strange happened. The Sri Lankan batsman Matheesha Pathirana was out of his place before the ball was bowled. Zaman could have run him out easily. This is called Mankad in cricket.

But Zaman did not do that. He let him go. The next ball, the other Sri Lankan batsman Charith Asalanka hit a four. Then, he hit a two on the last ball and won the match for his team.

Many people talked about this match. Some Indian fans said that Zaman should have run out Pathirana. Some Pakistani fans said that they did not want to win by Mankad because it is not fair.

Pakistan will now play their next match in coming World Cup 2023 in India.
